I love this! My mom used to make it and I’d have half the dish and feel too full afterwards. I didn’t have enough time for her to teach me the recipe before I left Toronto though so I was very happy when I found a recipe that pretty much replicates the taste of her dish to a T. It’s awesome – you have to try it. It’s like mac and cheese without the pasta. Yum. Here’s the recipe from BBC Good Food, however I only used 2tbsp of butter and it was perfectly fine. I didn’t know it was a British dish either! Maybe she had it during her days studying in England…?
